Go to the official site yourself, from the organiser's or venue's own page, rather than through a link someone sent you.
Check the address bar. A look-alike address with an extra word or a different ending is not the official site.
Read the event's ticket terms. Many say tickets resold outside the named routes can be cancelled.
Pay by card on the site itself. Never pay by bank transfer or through a social media message.
Questions, answered
What makes a resale site official?
The event decides. An organiser, venue or primary ticket seller names the routes it allows resale through, usually in its ticket terms or help pages. A site is official for that event if it is on that list, and not otherwise, however it describes itself.
Why isn't my event here?
We only list an event when its organiser, venue or ticket seller names its resale routes outright for that event. When they don't, or the only mention is a generic help page, we leave it out rather than guess.
How current is this?
Each event shows the date we last read its sources. Routes can open, close or change after that, so follow the source links if a date matters to you.
