**TL;DR.** The Glastonbury resale is a short second sale, run by the festival on See Tickets, of tickets that were cancelled or never paid off, sold at face value to registered buyers. It is not a marketplace for fans' spares. On 10 October 2026 the festival's site said: "Tickets for Glastonbury 2027 have now sold out, there will be a resale of any cancelled / returned tickets in Spring 2027." No date had been announced. In 2023, 2024 and 2025 the resale ran in the second half of April and general admission went in under half an hour each time. You need a registration for everyone you book for, and should expect to pay in full.

## How the Glastonbury resale works, and why a friend cannot sell you a ticket

Glastonbury has no ticket exchange. Buyers may not resell their own ticket, and trying to gets the order cancelled. The festival's anti-touting guide says the only official resale is See Tickets reselling cancelled tickets at face value, and that the festival supplies no tickets to auction or resale sites.

Every ticket is printed with the holder's registration photo and checked at the gates, and anyone who is not the person pictured is refused entry. So a ticket cannot change hands: it can only be cancelled and sold again by the festival, in the new buyer's name. A holder who cannot go is told to get a refund through See Tickets instead.

## Where the 2027 resale tickets come from

- **Unpaid balances.** Buyers in the October 2026 sale paid a £100 deposit and owe £308 between 9am BST on Thursday 1 April and 11.59pm BST on Wednesday 7 April 2027. A ticket not paid off by then is cancelled and its deposit refunded minus £25, and deposits cannot be passed to anyone else.

- **Refunds.** A fully paid ticket can be cancelled until 23:59 BST on Friday 7 May 2027 for the price minus a £25 admin fee.

The festival's 2025 balance notice said cancelled tickets are "put back on general release in the ticket resale". How many there will be is never published: the 2025 resale FAQ declined to give a number, as in previous years. If you hold a deposit, every date that applies to you is in our [Glastonbury 2027 tickets guide](https://alertix.app/blog/glastonbury-2027-tickets-price-deposit-balance-dates).

## When is the Glastonbury 2027 resale?

For 2027 the festival has said "Spring 2027" and nothing more, plus one rule: tickets bought in any resale after 8 April 2027 must be paid in full. NME reported on 8 September 2026 that the resale would follow the line-up announcement; that is NME's expectation, and no 2027 act had been officially announced by 10 October 2026.

The last three resales show a pattern, not a 2027 date:

- **2023.** Ticket and coach packages at 6pm on Thursday 20 April, gone by 6.10pm. General admission at 9am on Sunday 23 April (Glastonbury Festival News, a fan news site), gone in about six minutes according to NME's report a year later.

- **2024.** Ticket and coach at 6pm BST on Thursday 18 April, gone in 18 minutes. General admission at 9am BST on Sunday 21 April, gone in about 20 to 22 minutes after a technical delay. Announced by the festival on 9 April (Glastonbury Festival News; NME; The Independent).

- **2025.** Ticket and coach at 6pm BST on Thursday 24 April, gone in 31 minutes (Time Out said 32). General admission at 9am BST on Sunday 27 April, gone in 19 minutes. Announced by the festival on 10 April (NME; Glastonbury Festival News).

In 2025 cancelled accommodation was resold at 11am on the general admission Sunday. The resale details came nine days ahead in 2024 and fourteen in 2025. If 2027 follows the pattern, the festival's news page is where they will appear.

## Who can buy: Glastonbury registration

- **Everyone 13 or over needs their own registration**, and to book for others you need each person's registration number and registered postcode. Children aged 12 and under need neither a ticket nor a registration; 13 to 15 year olds need a teen ticket and an accompanying adult.

- **Registration is free** at glastonburyregistration.co.uk, with a passport-standard photo (jpeg, portrait, at least 900x1350 pixels) that the festival reviews within 48 hours in the working week.

- **It closes before every sale**, and nobody can submit or edit a registration while it is closed. For the 2025 resale it closed at 5pm BST on Wednesday 23 April 2025, the day before the first resale.

- **For 2027, check its status yourself.** It closed at 5pm BST on Friday 25 September 2026 for the October sales, and the festival said it "will not reopen until after the October ticket sales", with no date. We could not confirm its status on 10 October 2026.

- **Old registrations carry over**, but the festival asks you to check your details and photo each year. Registrations made before 2020 had to be reconfirmed in autumn 2023.

## How the Glastonbury resale works on the day

- **Coach or general admission.** A ticket and coach booking cannot be swapped for general admission, and the festival ticket is handed out on the coach you booked once it has left.

- **Face value, paid in full.** In 2025 a resale ticket cost £378.50 including the £5 booking fee, plus £10.25 postage per order (£2.75 for coach), with no deposit option. The 2027 ticket price is £408 including the booking fee.

- **Lower limits than the main sale.** The main sale allows up to 6 tickets per transaction; in the 2025 resale it was up to 4 general admission tickets or 2 ticket and coach packages per transaction, one per registration. The 2027 limits had not been published.

- **A random queue.** Everyone on glastonbury.seetickets.com when a sale opens gets a random place, and later arrivals join the back. Refreshing, or using several tabs or devices, can lose your place, and the festival advises being there at least 10 minutes early. In the October 2026 sale each registration code could join the queue only once (NME); whether the resale does the same had not been said.

- **When refreshing helped in 2025.** The 2025 resale FAQ said "All available tickets have now been allocated" means orders are still being processed, and that refreshing can catch tickets released from failed orders until "SOLD OUT" appears.

- **The rules change between years.** Read the 2027 resale FAQ when it is published, not the previous year's.

## Glastonbury resale scams: what is not a way in

- **Other websites and social media.** The festival says a ticket offered anywhere else "is not likely to be legitimate" and will not get you in, and that it cannot help anyone who bought from an unofficial seller.

- **E-tickets.** Festival entry tickets are physical only, so a "print at home" or e-ticket offered for entry is a scam.

- **VIP or backstage tickets.** The festival says there is no such thing.

Action Fraud data released by the Home Office showed more than £1.6m lost to concert ticket scams in 2024, across about 3,700 reports, nearly half about offers on social media, and Glastonbury was named among the events targeted (Nation.Cymru, June 2025). If it happens to you, the festival says to report it to Action Fraud and contact your card issuer. Our [ticket scam guide](https://alertix.app/blog/ticket-scams-how-to-buy-safely) covers the common patterns.

## How to get ready for the 2027 resale

1. **Registration.** Check yours, or register as soon as it reopens, allowing 48 hours in the working week for the photo review. Collect the registration number and postcode of everyone you would book for.

2. **Watch the festival's news page through Spring 2027.** In 2024 and 2025 the resale details appeared there on 9 and 10 April.

3. **Have the full price ready:** £408 per ticket at 2027 face value, plus postage.

4. **Choose coach or general admission in advance**, since one cannot become the other.

5. **On the day, one device and one tab**, at least 10 minutes before the start.

## Where Alertix fits

Alertix does not monitor the Glastonbury resale. It runs only on See Tickets, the festival's own ticketing partner, at times the festival announces in advance, so the festival's news page is the alert to watch. What we do watch is official face-value resale where returned tickets appear one at a time without warning, at gigs and festivals including [Electric Picnic 2027](https://alertix.app/electric-picnic); the [events page](https://alertix.app/events) lists them all.

## FAQ

### When is the Glastonbury resale?

The festival says only that cancelled and returned 2027 tickets will be resold in Spring 2027; no date had been announced by 10 October 2026. In 2023, 2024 and 2025 the resale ran in the second half of April: ticket and coach packages on a Thursday at 6pm, general admission the following Sunday at 9am.

### Do I need to register for the Glastonbury resale?

Yes. Everyone aged 13 or over needs their own registration, and to book for someone else you need their registration number and registered postcode. Registration is free at glastonburyregistration.co.uk, needs a passport-standard photo, and closes before each sale; for the 2025 resale it closed at 5pm BST on Wednesday 23 April 2025.

### Can I buy a Glastonbury ticket from a friend?

No. Tickets cannot be sold or transferred, each one is printed with the holder's registration photo, and anyone who is not the person pictured is refused entry. A friend who cannot go should cancel through See Tickets for a refund; cancelled tickets go back on sale in the festival's own resale.

### How much are Glastonbury resale tickets?

Face value, which in the 2025 resale was £378.50 including the £5 booking fee, plus £10.25 postage per order, paid in full with no deposit. The 2027 ticket price is £408 including the booking fee.

### How fast does the Glastonbury resale sell out?

In minutes. General admission resales sold out in about six minutes in 2023, about 20 to 22 minutes in 2024 and 19 minutes in 2025, according to NME, The Independent and Glastonbury Festival News. Ticket and coach resales took between about 10 and 31 minutes over the same years.
